currently obsessed with....

its report time and im doing my favourite passtime... procrastination...
i can procrastinate with the best of them....
i can amuse myself for hours on end -- looking at pretty pretty home mags
and i have found myself poring over interior design blogs more and more now days too...

its no wonder i get no work done :o)

so ... im starting to nest..
i would love to have a very pretty, beautiful and practical nest
lately i have really wanted to turn my "house" into a comfy beautiful home
not just random pieces of furniture bought on sale or at ikea
but quality stuff i'd be proud to own for a long time
this is going to be a very very veeeeeeeeeery long term project
with small changes happening on a small scale, over a long time
home renovations - are an expensive exercise
so its going to happen bit by bit....

i am slowly adding my favourite interior decorating blogs to my list of favs on the side
cant live without my daily ration of pretty, sparkly things
yes... im a magpie at heart

looking at interior decorating mags on the cheap cheap - borrow from the library...
god i love all my local libraries :o)

thought i would give this book a try, and see what it was all about...
portion control.... mmmm no more buffets...BOO!

currently loving all the uber pretty embellished dresses
i have quite a number of weddings next yr
think its time to get a new dress ;o)

weak students

SIGH
i have one VERY weak student in my class
the poor guy struggles to read - and just barely literate
i tested him earlier in term 3, and according to my "test"
he is reading at year 2 level! and we are in year 5

his mum is aware of how weak he is
but doesnt seem to do much about it
i have offered to tutor him for 20-30 mins 3 times a week - after school for free.
Just so he can improve his reading skills and not be SO FAR BEHIND
but they basically "disappear" as soon as the school bell rings
before i can catch him and do some concrete work on his basic maths/reading skills.

his reading skills are soooooooo bad, that he cant do a lot of the maths, spelling, reading or writing test that is required by the government or the school. Only because he cant read the instructions that they are asking or doesnt understand it at all! Especially when its multiple choice test - its easier for him because you just randomly fill in the boxes without looking at the questions at all.

his spelling/handwriting is SOOOO bad he can barely string a sentence together
common everyday words are always spelt wrong
for example
day=dey
button= baten
work=werk
was=whaz
does=duz

the saddest thing is, the poor kid IS VERY AWARE of how weak he is compared to the other kids. he just wants to be normal or even normal weak - he is so self conscious about everything, that he becomes very nervous all the time. he doesnt want the other kids to know how behind he is. and when we do work together after school, you can tell he is really enjoying the sessions, and you can see the concrete progress he is making. he is also very aware of the progress he is making, i just dont understand why the parents arent so co-operative?!!!

and because he is so weak, he cant do a lot of the class activities we do which requires average reading, writing, spelling skills - so he makes up "excuses", i dont feel well, i cant find my sheet of paper, i lost it, i left it at home, anything that will basically allow him to avoid work.

SIGH SIGH SIGH.............. i love teaching, but seeing such a sad case like this just breaks my heart. because if he doesnt learn to do the basics in primary school, god knows who will help him in highschool. he is just going to be another statistic "year 8 students going into highschool barely reading and writing". he is going to be so lost.

Unbreakables performing @ Groove Perth 2007

Another "crew" from the hip hop competition. This team was HOT! but they didnt win first prize, because the judges thought they stole a lot of ideas from youtube, video clips etc. basically from lack of originality. But they were so hot it was like watching you got served or another hip hop dance movie in real life..... i have 2-3 years to go before i get this good --- if im lucky!? :P

i spy with my little eye......

guess what i found on ebay?
more gorgeous beauties to tempt and haunt me.
honestly i shouldnt hang around horrible websites which enable my shopping addictions, but the soul is weak and will power non existent.
how else can this boring, retailed therapy depraved teacher let off some steam?
looking at random pretty stuff on ebay.... a beautiful blue and gold large work bag from balanciaga... how can anyone not love the colours and the softness of the leather....mmmmmmmmmMMMMmmmm

and these cuties!! i have had my eye on these for a while now, im trying to nab a pair in any colour i can get! but its hard to get them in my size for some reason ?!! anyways... ones up on ebay and due to finish in 1.5 days ... budget? im not paying more then $110 for these babies... originally retails for about $350-$400. My students are going to love these!

How do you know you are a teacher.....

Heloo people... yes i have more lame teacher jokes to share with my lovely readers...
here it goes ...(scary part - it's all true!!)

HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TEACHER? by Jeff Foxworthy
1. You can hear 25 voices behind you and know exactly which one belongs tothechild out of line.
2. You get a secret thrill out of laminating something.
3. You walk into a store and hear the words "It's Ms/Mr. _________" and knowyou have been spotted.
4. You have 25 people that accidentally call you Mom/Dad at one time or another.
5. You can eat a multi-course meal in under twenty-five minutes.
6. You've trained yourself to go to the bathroom at two distinct times ofthe day: lunch and prep period.
7. You start saving other people's trash, because most likely, you can usethat toilet paper tube or plastic butter tub for something in the classroom.
8.You believe the teachers' lounge should be equipped with a margaritamachine.
9. You want to slap the next person who says it "Must be nice to work 7 to 3
and have summers off"
10. You believe chocolate is a food group.
11. You can tell if it's a full moon without ever looking outside.
12. You believe that unspeakable evils will befall you if anyone says "Boy,the kids sure are mellow today."
13. You feel the urge to talk to strange children and correct their behavior when you are out in public.
14. You believe in aerial spraying of Ritalin.
15. You think caffeine should be available in intravenous form.
16. You spend more money on school stuff than you do on your own children.
17. You can't pass the school supply aisle without getting at least five items!
18. You ask your friends if the left hand turn he just made was a "good choice or a bad choice.
19. You find true beauty in a can full of perfectly sharpened pencils
20. You are secretly addicted to hand sanitizer and finally,
21. You understand instantaneously why a child behaves a certain way after meeting his or her parents.

techno F***** noobie

oh F*** its daylight savings again!

YUP its daylight savings again in Perth
it starts tomorrow and i have this wierd feeling im gonna be soooo outa whack because of it
its only 11pm right now ......but because its daylight savings its now officially 12am ....argh...
how come i have a bad feeling im gonna be an hr late to all my appointments tomorrow?
and i have to pick up simon from the airport at 4pm too....... blergh....
im sooo against daylight savings, its not natural to fuck around with your body clock and mother nature. shes gonna bite u in the ass.

on a different note....
one very bored miss clio decided to crank up the stereo, played with scissors and gave herself some serious bangs. you like?
im still trying to get used to it, it will probably change tomorrow and come Monday morning it will probably be pinned back and no one will notice nothing....
i really should get on with the housework ...but argh... housework is sooo boring. luv.clio

ley street fish n chips in manning

i love fish and chips

and this is one thing i dont eat very often

only because simon doesnt like fish and chips - party pooper

so while the hubby is away... i indulge in some yummy fish and chips

i have 2 fish and chip shops i often go to, one in winthrop and other one is in manning.

this time i went to the one in Manning on Ley street, near the infamous "deli" place (very close friends know what im talking about)

as soon as i got out of the car, you can smell the oil in the air - its enough to make you drool and go crazy. yes its bad for you, yes its covered in salt and vinegar and yes it will give you cardiac arrest one day, but why does deep fried battered stuff taste so damn good?!

As soon as i got my greedy hands on my greasy goodies i ran straight for the car to go directly home. But the smell of the stuff drove me nuts and i ended up eating half my fish and chips in the car on the way home. :o)

The chips were crispy, the batter light and tasty, the seafood fresh - i was one very satisfied customer. so satisfied, i took a nana nap after dinner. something i have done quite often lately, i think im turning into a nana....

just for laughs

this is an email that went around our school...
i thought it was very funny and it shows the calibre of people i work with :o)
lots of females and very catholic...

One day, when a seamstress was sewing while sitting close to a river, her thimble fell into the river. When she cried out, the Lord appeared and asked, "My dear child, why are you crying?" The seamstress replied that her thimble had fallen into the water and that she needed it to help her husband in making a living for their family. The Lord dipped His hand into the water and pulled up a golden thimble set with sapphires.

"Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked The seamstress replied, "No."

The Lord again dipped into the river. He held out a golden thimble studded with rubies.

"Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked. Again, the seamstress replied, "No."

The Lord reached down again and came up with a leather thimble.

"Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked. The seamstress replied, "Yes."

The Lord was pleased with the woman's honesty and gave her all three thimbles to keep, and the seamstress went home happy.

Some years later, the seamstress was walking with her husband along the riverbank, and her husband fell into the river and disappeared under the water. When she cried out, the Lord again appeared and asked her, "Why are you crying?" "Oh Lord, my husband has fallen into the river!"

The Lord went down into the water and came up with George Clooney. "Is this your husband?" the Lord asked.

"Yes," cried the seamstress.

The Lord was furious. "You lied! That is an untruth!"

The seamstress replied, "Oh, forgive me, my Lord. It is a misunderstanding. You see, if I had said 'no' to George Clooney, you would have come up with Brad Pitt.

Then if I said 'no' to him, you would have come up with my husband. Had I then said 'yes,' you would have given me all three. Lord, I'm not in the best of health and would not be able to take care of all three husbands, so THAT'S why I said 'yes' to George Clooney.

And so the Lord let her keep him.

The moral of this story is: Whenever a woman lies, it's for a good and honourable reason, and in the best interest of others. That's our story, and we're sticking to it.

:o)

general update...

just a few things happening this week or two...
1. i have an assembley to prepare in 1 week
2. i am going to watch heidy enter a hip hop dance contest
3. simon is going back to indo for 1 wk without me
4. i have an assembley to prepare in 1 week
5. i have an assembley to organise
6. school has just started (again) for term 4
7. did i mention i have an assembley to do in week 2 of term 4?

ARGHHHHH assembley - every teacher's nightmare.
who wants to organise a dance/song/ play routine for 30 kids who constantly figit, have zero attention span and little or no performing talent?
i know that was very harsh... but preparing for assembley is the bane of teaching.
all teachers hate it, it takes forever to organise, soooo much effort/time/energy goes into it - that it completely disrupts teaching for a while.
anyways... the kids are doing 2 poems and a dance to perform in front of the whole school.
ill post some pics or other bits and pieces i can muster as souveniers of assembley.
yes i know assembley is very cute and all- but its a serious production not unlike the oscars :oP.

Craigslist Meets Wallstreet - Women a tradeable commodity?.

this might be a bit of a read - but i found it very amusing and worthwhile....something to think about for gold diggers.

THIS APPEARED ON CRAIG’S LIST

What am I doing wrong?
Okay, I’m tired of beating around the bush. I’m a beautiful (spectacularly beautiful) 25 year old girl. I’m articulate and classy.I’m not from New York .. I’m looking to get married to a guy who makes at least half a million a year. I know how that sounds, but keep in mind that a million a year is middle class in New York City, so I don’t think I’m overreaching at all.
Are there any guys who make 500K or more on this board? Any wives? Could you send me some tips? I dated a business man who makes average around 200 - 250. But that’s where I seem to hit a roadblock. 250,000 won’t get me to central park west. I know a woman in my yoga class who was married to an investment banker and lives in Tribeca, and she’s not as pretty as I am, nor is she a great genius. So what is she doing right? How do I get to her level?

Here are my questions specifically:
- Where do you single rich men hang out? Give me specifics- bars, restaurants, gyms
-What are you looking for in a mate? Be honest guys, you won’t hurt my feelings
-Is there an age range I should be targeting (I’m 25)?
- Why are some of the women living lavish lifestyles on the upper east side so plain? I’ve seen really ‘plain jane’ boring types who have nothing to offer married to incredibly wealthy guys. I’ve seen drop dead gorgeous girls in singles bars in the east village. What’s the story there?
- Jobs I should look out for? Everyone knows - lawyer, investment banker, doctor. How much do those guys really make? And where do they hang out? Where do the hedge fund guys hang out?
- How you decide marriage vs. just a girlfriend? I am looking for MARRIAGE ONLY
Please hold your insults - I’m putting myself out there in an honest way. Most beautiful women are superficial; at least I’m being up front about it. I wouldn’t be searching for these kind of guys if I wasn’t able to match them - in looks, culture, sophistication, and keeping a nice home and hearth.

The reply was written by a JP Morgan Investment Banker

THE ANSWERDear Pers-431649184:

I read your posting with great interest and have thought meaningfully about your dilemma. I offer the following analysis of your predicament.Firstly, I’m not wasting your time, I qualify as a guy who fits your bill; that is I make more than $500K per year. That said here’s how I see it.
Your offer, from the prospective of a guy like me, is plain and simple a crappy business deal. Here’s why. Cutting through all the B.S., what you suggest is a simple trade: you bring your looks to the party and I bring my money. Fine, simple. But here’s the rub, your looks will fade and my money will likely continue into perpetuity…in fact, it is very likely that my income increases but it is an absolute certainty that you won’t be getting any more beautiful!
So, in economic terms you are a depreciating asset and I am an earning asset. Not only are you a depreciating asset, your depreciation accelerates! Let me explain, you’re 25 now and will likely stay pretty hot for the next 5 years, but less so each year. Then the fade begins in earnest. By 35 stick a fork in you!

So in Wall Street terms, we would call you a trading position, not a buy and hold…hence the rub…marriage. It doesn’t make good business sense to “buy you” (which is what you’re asking) so I’d rather lease. In case you think I’m being cruel, I would say the following. If my money were to go away, so would you, so when your beauty fades I need an out. It’s as simple as that. So a deal that makes sense is dating, not marriage.

Separately, I was taught early in my career about efficient markets. So, I wonder why a girl as “articulate, classy and spectacularly beautiful”as you has been unable to find your sugar daddy. I find it hard to believe that if you are as gorgeous as you say you are that the $500K hasn’t found you, if not only for a tryout.

By the way, you could always find a way to make your own money and then we wouldn’t need to have this difficult conversation.

With all that said, I must say you’re going about it the right way.Classic “pump and dump.”I hope this is helpful, and if you want to enter into some sort of lease, let me know.

hey at least they are both very honest...no?

Assam Laksa

my assam laksa from my camera phone - still learning how to use it properly

Since i work so close to spencer village
i have made it a habit to visit the food hall once in a while.
i do love my curry laksa and mee reebus and hor fun and that...
but a friend told me to try the assam laksa.

i have had it once before in KL...
it was from a food court again in god knows where
The first time i had it - i found it VERY bizarre!!
whats with the udon noodle bits? cucumbers and pineapple?!!
it was just too wierd for me... i finished it - i think... enjoyed it?
more like confused.

So today i tried it again for the 2nd time
This time i knew what i was expecting so it wouldnt shock me so much like the first time.

The assam laksa at Penang hawkers / Spencer Village was very good value at $6.50
The broth was absolutely delicious! Thick with flavour and very sour too.
I loved the mint and onions they added to it, because it reminds me of pho and added new flavours to the sour broth.
Not much in terms of meat- so i dont think its a boys dish, i saw bits and pieces of fish (like tuna) floating around here and there.
Could have been anchovies for all i know to add to the salty/sour broth.
This time i enjoyed it a lot more!
will i eat it again? definitely - but not in the middle of summer and esp those times when u feel like something sour or different.

Penang Hawkers/ Spencer Village Food Court / Spencer Road / Thornlie

Scones or Rock Cake?

A baking bug bit me the other day...
it gave me grand plans of making some scones.
which i have never done in my life

so off i went to look for a recipe on the internet and in my random cook book collections.
gathered all the ingredients
went to garden city to pick up anything else i didnt have
cookie cutter, unsalted butter, rolling pin etc etc

AND THEN!!!
i had a fantabulous idea!
use my bread maker to mix my dough!
stuff getting my hands dirty
and what a great cheat/idea - dont forget im lazy!!

throw all ingredients in
mix dough, batter etc etc
30 mins later ---------- HRMMMMM
this doesnt look right.

So took out all the gooey mess and ended up mixing, kneading it by hand.
1 hr later...
they are hot out of oven - but they dont look like scones - more like rock cakes!!
they tasted ok - but very dense and not lovely like scones
so they became "dog food"

i would take pictures - but i have learnt my lesson and i dont need evidence to remind me.

tax season

YAY!!!!
since its the school holidays - there was 1 item on the TOP of my
TO DO LIST
get my tax return sorted out!
yes its painful sorting out your "work related" expenses.
its a drag trawling through all that paper work etc etc la la la BLAH!
but when the accountant told me how much i was getting back
:o)
it was definitely worth it!
WOOHOOOO!!!
basically my refund is equivalent to a Chanel Re-issue flap bag with change to spare!!
MMMM!!!
But - unfortunately no...
my little fortune and simons tax refund money are all going straight to our mortgage
its going to reduce our debt by quite a bit.
and thats an achievement...
so good bye expensive designer bags...maybe next years tax refund.

puppy love

for those who remember or not... me and simon did get another basset hound - who we named "Boo" or officially known as "Harry Potter" on his registration papers.
So we now have 1 samoyed and 2 bassets. Bella, Boo & Pooky. It really feels like my little family is complete now. Having the 2 bassets is like looking after todlers, they are soooo gorgeous together - as you can see the sleep and snuggle next to each other. so when people say when are we having kids - MEH? we have puppies. :oP for more pics of the dogs - go to bella basset blog

recent musings

Just recently finished reading... i was going to read this to my class ( i love reading to kids!) but it has too many references to sex - scrap that! i'm not going to read anything that will make me feel awkward. :oP

Anyways school holidays are a week away and i am getting my holiday reading lined up. i just bought this book - looks kinda depressing but meh - i think i need to read something a little bit more mature.

On a recent random google search ... i came across this... which i thought was hilarious...
i use to love the archies comics sooo much!

Learning Journey

Next Thursday is "Learning Journey" day at school.

This means the classroom is open for all relatives and parents to come and see what the kids have done all term/year.

What this means to this lil teacher is stress - stress and more stress -
organising 26 kids works into some sort of organised, presentable condition is going to be a challenge. Sigh - looks like I'm going to school for a whole day on Sunday.

Something i haven't done but would love to show you is a picture of my classroom! plus some of the work the kids have done. :o)

Probably closer to the "Learning Journey" day when the room is in a presentable state.

too cool for school

i just recently read an interesting article about school kids and fashion.
interestingly enough, kids are becoming more descerning consumers with a taste for designer labels. not just billabong or quicksilver or roxy, like back in the jurassic age (80/90's) - but serious higher end stuff - chanel sunnies for a kid in yr 5-6-7 !!!
OMFG!!!! jesus mary and joseph ! i dont even own a pair of chanel sunnies my self. they are $400+ a pair and i seriously cbf paying that much for a pair of fashion sunnies. yes they are nice - and yes owning an authentic pair does hold bragging rights. but oh my lord... im so over it. mind you these designer labelled youths are americans from the O.C area - so i am not surprised.

read more about the article here....http://www.ocregister.com/life/back-to-school-1822680-clothes-school
a seriously fugly pair of coach sneakers.
i know i know.... who am i to comment? when i have numerous designer bags in my closet- but primary school age kids with designer gear? is way over the top. thank god my yr 5 kids live in bogan-ville, are down to earth and shop in Harbour Town - like me!

puppy fever

so its been a VERYYYY long time since the last puppy post - whats happened you say? heheh ... a lot!! the puppies and mother have been kicked out of our garage and now currently run a muck with the rest of the gang in the back yard. So now we have 3 puppies and 3 dogs running around freely in the back garden. (simons mum not impressed). the puppies are loving the GREAT outdoors and sleep, eat, shit with the rest of the adult dogs. life is sweet when you're a pup. The pups will be 6 weeks old this thursday!! (time flies when you have too much fun with puppies !! ) and they are growing up really quickly. i still remember them crying and whining all night wanting to suckle on their mothers teat. So here are the latest piccies.

this is our beautiful girl Hermione/ Yoshi - and now officially called "Tenshi" by her new owners. Shes the luckist pup of them all - we know shes going home to a really good family, who will love and spoil her to death. Best part is - we get to watch her grow up. One of our really really really good friends is going to give her a home.

the cheeky fella above is our handsome "Bear" - this little puppy is a riot! he sleeps on his back and rolls around all night. He has the most gorgeous markings and the sweetest personality. Me and simon are sooo tempted to keep him - even though it means getting rid of his "dad" in the background. hehehe

This is "bear" again.... ' arent i just adorable?' ... the puppies are sooo cute, you cant help yourself stare at them when they are sleeping. All you want to do is grab them, cuddle them and take them to bed! And for anyone out there who is interested - Bear is still available! Asking price $500.00 - but we only want him to go to a good home. so be prepared for an interrogation!

And this handsome beast is "Boo" he is the "black sheep" of the bunch - but he is a gorgeous little fella. We just sold him on the weekend - to a very lucky couple from Albany. We are going to miss this little guy when he goes.

So speaking of puppies and having too many dogs to handle... simon has decided to add another puppy to our pack . Are we crazy? , are we fucking nuts ? - umm yes. ... hehe its part of simon's lofty plans of becoming a dog breeder for when we retire. mmmm right.... its about 40 yrs away!. So we have fleas in our brains ... and we eat too much raw hide and dog fur - but meet our newest member of the family....

Yes - we got another basset hound. :o). why? i have fallen in love with bassets, they are such beautiful beautiful dogs!! i love them, more then malamutes and samoyeds? - yes :o) but dont tell pooky, he doesnt need to know. but he will figure it out when there are more bassets around then artic breed dogs. So whats this little guy's name? officially he is "Harry Potter" but we will probably call him "Harry Boo Potter" - i have a thing for calling dog's boo.

This is the puppies on their first "grass outing" kawaiiiii! the terrible trio
So a big lick, kiss and cuddles from the puppies and clio. muah!

recent aquisitions

i have bought meself an A3 laminating machine and i LOVES it.
Just ask Simon, he knows i have been laminating all sorts of "unmentionables" in the dining room. :o)

Well unfortunately i have to put a stop to my laminating business - because i ran out of plastic pouches. ARGHH.... how annoying!! i cant believe i didnt steal *cough* ah hem... *take* enough damn plastic pouches from the place i was working in subi! [God bless their souls, i loved working in the subi hagemeyer office - it was stationary heaven ] Now i only have A3 size pouches and i need to do A4 laminating. Sighzz.... looks like i'll have to buy my own damn plastic pouches. i guess its all tax deductible.

the scary facts of life

learnt something new about myself recently...

  • my once "loose" pants + becoming my fitted "tight" pants = the need to exercise more
  • my amazing collection of capri pants that i had spent big $$ on have now become too tight and scarily obselete. :o(
  • so now i have to exercise a SHIT load more and lose freakin 5kgs. GRRR
  • Its easier to type + say then to do... SIGH

i guess spring is coming and i really need to get my ass crackin'

a serious lack of mobile phones

my mum has gone back to indonesia for a little family gathering, celebrations & festivities ... which i have not been fortunate enough to attend (due to serious lack of funds + unable to afford to take days off work)

so when my mummy heads off overseas... she decides she needs to take her mobile phone (the crap motorola she lent me) back to indonesia with her. grrr... sigh...

because mummy dearest could not possibly live in indonesia without being contactable. her crap motorola is the only phone she has that is not networked locked - and able to roam overseas.

and so here i am totally mobile phone less and completely uncontactable! it is quite liberating - but also worrying because i cant really run a "tutor" business *cough cough* or be a relied teacher when i am not contactable!

and so here i am in this horrible position of "needing" to buy a mobile phone - when i dont really want to, especially when my contract finishes next Jan 08, and i am entitled to a new phone then. no i dont want a "new" contract, i dont want to "pay" for another phone - all i want is a freebie + get on with my life.... without having to pay a cent.

so here is my plea
any mobile phone companies, business entrepreneurs or totally loaded people - please kindly donate a nice newish sony ericsson mobile phone my way :o). i will shamelessly promote your products/services on my very small blog readership. i will also shamelessly promote and drop subliminal messages into class lessons across all grades that i teach. ** Remember relationship marketing - you start them young & small ** i was once a marketing student - i know what i am doing. :o)

if all else fails - i will beg
Please PUH LEEEESEEEE pretty pleasseeee donate money, cash or mobile phone to miss clio. if you want to donate by paypal - please forward you payments to yata@iinet.net.au. (my paypal account got cancelled - damn paypal assholes)
if you want to donate a phone - please contact me via comments + messages - we can arrange for stuff *wink wink*

** and just for your information ~ Sony ericsson preferred ~ nokia is ok - but i wont accept the rest**

general update...

as you can tell i resisted the urge to buy all those yummy goodies from my previous ebay handbag blog. i do have a sensible head on my shoulders and i dont fall for every thing my ditsy heart desires.

however i do have another weakness.. that many people are not aware of... and something i have developed while teaching .. so its a relatively new thing.....

i am absolutely weak when it comes to teacher supply shops... *DROOLS*

the brand spanking new math text books, pristine white pages of exercises books, endless pages of grammer, comprehension, spelling and science books.

AND.......

A wall dedicated to stamps, stickers and merit cetificates. I am in stationary heaven. When i saw scratch and sniff stickers - i knew i had to buy them! how could i resist? They smell sooo good you wish they were candy :o).
At least i know im the the right job, when the teacher gets excited about stickers as much as the kids do (or even more sometimes!!) The best part is - its all tax deductible !! so it makes it hard for me to "rationalise" when i hit the teacher supply store.
Ah well, im building up my resources bit by bit. And yes i'm putting the breadmaker as a tax deductible expense. i use it for school purposes only *cough cough*
lotsa luv.clio
ps: i have started private tuition too!! i only have 1 student so far, but its going really good. extra money is always handy.

the joy of getting paid...

this week i got a VERY nice surprise in my bank account!! i got paid (a nice big one too - something i am very unaccustomed too) !! i havent got paid since the school holidays and jesus it was such a sweet relief. Because in good ol' WA - July & August is rates and water month! which means serious bills. FAR out the number of bills that came in this month means serious financial leakage.

i am very tempted to write down the list of bills i have to pay ... but its just too depressing.
and so i have learnt a new truth in life

BEING GROWN UP = RESPONSIBILITY = BILLS = YUCK!!

bloody ebay

whilst browsing on ebay for random stuff... i came across all these goodies looking for a "good home" .... ARGHHHH!!!!!!!!...... im such a sucker.... i am so weak and hopeless against designer goodies. even being dead FLAT broke doesnt deter me one bit. sigh sigh sigh.... and when these goodies are going at bargain prices..... oh jesus, mary and joseph help me.
lets see... hrm... sepciman no1 is a beautiful red balenciaga wallet currently at $50.00 on ebay with 2 days to go... sigh.... damn this is going to look HOT with either of my B bags. RRp? i havent the foggiest - prolly around $500 ish mark. mmmmm NiCe......
Speciman no2 here is the blue international groom wallet from LV. it was a limited edition collection and i dont even have 1 piece of it!(OMG!!!) the reason being is because it was uber $$ when the collection came out and i was 50/50 on it in general. BUT now that the collection has been stopped and the rest of the current stuff from LV aint looking too hot, this my friends is looking good. RRp is about $800-900aud is very expensive indeedy (hence the lack of funds to pay full retail price) but on ebay it is going for a steal at $180 bucks with less then 24 hours left to go... hrmmm decisions decisions......

OH MY LORDY.... dont even get me started on this little gem.... this is the Hermes picotin, something i have been lusting after for a number of years (very secretly of course). Its a beautiful dainty ish purse and its a GORGEOUS colour of blue. All leather and all very simply styled Hermes.... RRP just under $2k (i will NEVER EVER pay retail for this!!) i dont think i have ever seen this in real life... just drooling on the net and in magazines. This is going for an absolute bargain at $60 on ebay with 3 days to go...... do i really need another handbag? ....ai yah..... so hard!!

now this is something different... its a Goyard... something along the lines of Hermes & LV but a lot more in the background (not in your face like LV) . I heard its big in HK but little known elsewhere. Its from france and dates back to same age as LV . Do i really need it? have i been lusting after it for donkey years ... no... why do i want it? just for the sake of having something different AND its a bigger roomier bag for those over night business trips or 2-3 day trips. like YEH right...school teachers have business trips? no we have excursions to Scitech. Well its going for $2.00 with 5 days to go and i can only guesstimate the rrp at about $2-$3k ish.

NOW do i really want the next item? ermm... not really ... but its real cute when you open it up and its got a separate little baggy compartment thingy. hrmm.. right... it will look good when i travel with passport, wallet et al stuff type thing, for when i go overseas. .... honestly i really dont need the next item (or any of the items above) but when they go for such ridiculous prices how can a poor weakling like me resist?

luv & lemmings.clio
ps: some of you may be thinking, how do i know that the above items are the genuine article? i have done my research and i am about 90% sure they are real. And if they arent, i give myself a limit of $200 to spend on it - cause if its fake i would hate to lose more then $200 for it. if it sounds stupid or crazy... its how i work things out. if i was going to spend more then $200 - i prefer to meet/see the item in real life rather then take the risk.

the book thief

One of the first few things i did when school finished for term 2 was go straight to my public library. Teaching does not give you the time or luxury of reading.

And so i came across this book whilst browsing the random shelves of books at the willagee library. i love that library....... its a little run down.......its smack bang in the middle of the burbs and its chock full of good books. No one goes there unlike all the other libraries... which means you can pretty much go there and guarenteed to come out with a bag full of books. :o)
So when i came across this book, i quickly read the blurbs at the back and it sounded interesting. it definitely piqued my interest. i think i could have heard about it or seen it somewhere - or someone could have recommended it to me, i dont know - im just glad i took the book home. i havent read such a good, deep, meaningful and thoughtful book in such a long time. it is a sad story and it will make you cry, but there are also many beautiful moments in the book that will make you laugh out loud and smile. Its about a little german girl who cant read but becomes entranced with the magic of words. its set during world war 2 under nazi germany in a small town called molching.
Definitely a worthwhile read 10/10
variations in the book cover - something interesting i found while googling more information on the book. i read the book with cover number 2 :o)

KNOCKED UP......

We watched the movie KNOCKED UP the other night. God that was super scary stuff. Definitely a good movie, great story lines, great character development, good jokes etc etc. But the idea of having a bun in the oven that wasnt planned is very scary indeed.

And speaking of being KNOCKED UP, Sasha the malamute we are looking after for friend is pregnant. YES holy shit!!! OH MY GOD !! shes pregnant - who's the daddy? Pooky. hehehe... YUP my geriatric, arthritic dog is da man. He got poor spring chicken sasha very pregnant and very large n heavy.

How come we didnt notice anytime sooner? well... we kinda saw Sasha getting a bit chubbier, but we just thought she was gaining weight, she really didnt show any signs of being pregnant at all until yesterday night. Because yesterday
1. She looked REALLY big - tummy wise
2. She had serious doggy boobs. Nipples and milk and all!!!
3. We think shes due within a week or so!!!

Anyways im off to the vet today for a check up for Sasha - just to confirm the pregnancy & maybe the number of pups. And hopefully try to figure out how many days i have left before the bubs arrive and help her get ready.

Its very exciting times and VERY scary times for me and simon. But i will keep you all posted.

PS** spoke to Sasha's owner yesterday and she says be careful/watch out for Sash, she comes from a big litter of 12, and he parents came from big litters of 10-12 pups too. So we might have a big litter on our hands - EEEP!!!

PPS* Very curious to see what samoyed cross malamute pups look like. :o)

PPPS**Puppies for sale - available in 3 months time ....ehhehe....
