im shocking, absolutely shocking... i have a mountain of "marking" to do but i SOOO cant be ar*ed.

i do miss having the weekends to do sweet fuc* all ... and be a woman of liesure. but thats the price you pay for being a teacher. any volunteers to help me mark? i'll give you a hot chocolate and tim tams?

so... while i waste a little bit of time... i decided to drop into one of my FAVOURITE websites. www.chrischun.com.
i just love the way he paints, and his main subject matter is FOOD! (no wonder he's my fav contemporary artist). Like everything else, i tell myself... one day klar... you will own a couple of his paintings :o). but till that day, i cant wait...i really do love his stuff....

my obsession with food recently has me looking like one of the above recently.
Lucky for me, darling husband has decided we buy an "ab king pro".
so we do our daily 3 minutes of stomach crunches, power sit ups and etc etc etc ....
in the vain hope we can turn our flabby spare tyres into ... wash board abs? six packs? hehehe i think not. i dont think i will go that far, but i wouldnt mind being able to fit into my pants again. ARGH this weight gain is pissing me off... i cant be fucked shopping for pants in size XX ... its too depressing.

May get together at Mead's Mosman Bay

Every so often my lil group of high school gals like to go out for a nice dinner and lots of yakking. Because it was Miss A's birthday recently and we havent had the chance to catch up yet, we thought we should celebrate in good taste...heheh ....excuse the pun :o).

We went to Meads in mosman bay (which i absent mindedly kept referring to as matilda bay and confusing everyone but myself) which has quite a reputation for being a "swanky" place. It is a gorgeous place, tucked away on the jetty/foreshore of Mosman Park suburb. For entrees we all decided to have oysters to share, there was the tradional options : au naturale, kilpatrick and some interesting combinations of mirin, soy sauce and wasabi (no thanks). But the winning favourite for our group was the pancetta, honey and red wine vinegar. Similar flavours to the traditional kilpatrick, but the hint of honey in it is YUMMY! (i could have had all 12 to myself!!)

For drinks i ordered a french martini consisting of pineapple, vodka and ??? and in the background is miss S's drink - a kamikaze

this was my mains, half a crayfish ($37.50 or whole for $65.00) with some chilli prawns. This was VERY good, the meat was so sweet and tender for the crayfish and the prawns were spicey. This was quite a small portion compared to the other options available, but i wanted to make sure i had enough room for desserts! definitely recommended!!

Miss S and her sirloin, which was a very generous serve and really yummy too. The beef was cooked to perfection and the sauce/gravy went very well together.

Miss A and her crispy skin salmon and tossed ceasar salad. The salmon was also very good, and another very large serving.

Miss C had a sirloin as well. Everyone struggled to finish their meals except for me (eating strategy). But it was all very good. The service was a little slow to start of with, we were virtually ignored for about 40 minutes, but once the ball started rolling it was defintely very good. We order dessert as well, but it got consumed before i remembered to take photos.
Yes the dessert was that good, i completely forgot to take photos.

All in all we had a great time, just catching up in general. hot topics of the night:
  • my teaching stories ...eg. Yeh! Duff Man!!
  • Miss C house purchase
  • Miss S new beau (goodbye brandon!!)
  • Miss A's new jacket very nice!!!

cant wait for the next get together....

bon apetite! clio

winter fashion rut

i confess im not very good with winter fashions. for me... mostly its about hit and miss... and most of the time i miss. i think i have a hot outfit together, but it doesnt always work out. i have no idea what im going to wear for winter this year. i dont like whatever is out there in the shops and shelves of clothing stores, and my stock of winter clothes is looking super miserable. even when i go out to look at the shops and stuff... nothing out there inspires me.. the only thing that gets my heart beat going is home wares. give me 50k and a house to redecorate and im in heaven.

i'll probably blow most of it redoing the bedroom a la "Cocoon" style. for the perth girls, you know what i'm talking about. that store is TO DIE FOR!!!

anyways back to topic... the only thing i can dress myself for is summer casual wear. i can do casual very well, or so i think so. i think the reason why im so icky about winter clothes is because i dont fit into my old winter clothes so well anymore. healthy apetitie = expanding waistline. Sigh...sigh ....sigh... back to the AB King Pro for me....
