my herb garden

i have grown a green thumb lately, really getting into the herbs, pulling out the evil weeds and doing something i have never ever done before!

this is a very short tour around my herb garden - if you can even call it that?!!
this is the first time i have kept green things alive longer then 4 weeks!
i might even be able to eat/use some of these babies in some of my cooking in the future.

first up is my mint bush/plant/tree - this little one is the one thriving the most in the garden, cant wait to make vietnamese spring rolls with these guys.

my lemon grass collection - we had to get more lemon grass because the dogs kept eating/demolishing these in the back yard.

this is my vietnamese mint or laksa leaf plant - it smells divine but i have no idea what to do with this! i bought this because the vendor said "mint" and i said why not? i can see some little buggers are having a meal out of my plant! i'll have to "sort them out" .

last but not least, is my little coriander plant and "little" it surely is. this plant is tiny and i have been taking extra care of it - trying to make it grow and bush up a bit.
But instead of growing bigger and bushier, my plant has decided to flower instead - ugh... its probably going to die now!

how did i get interested in gardening? (what ? no more designer hand bags?) well it all started from an old asian vendor at canning vale markets selling super cheap herbs, 3 pots for $5 - me and mr s thought we'd try to grow our own herbs.

Other recent purchases

We all know that i have a nasty shopping habit... it all started when i was ...ummm... let see... errrr.... it all started when i was very young lets just say...

sometimes i can control the urge to spend money, (thats coz the fashion of the day sucks and there is no way i am going for the bandeau belt, rara skirt or other trashy looks that have occurred recently) and sometimes i can't help whip out the good ol' cc whenever something catches my eye...

let me show you the damage i have done..

this is my super cute striped shirt dress from picnic harbour town $20.00 (bargain!!)
i have worn this baby out heaps

this is my 2nd hand cue grey cardigan from the vogue forums, it was $30 and i have been wearing it heaps during winter. (i love the button detail - each button is a different shape with cue stamped on each one!)

remember a couple posts back - i was drooling over smiggle stuff - lets just say i am very weak and pathetic - i went back to the store and bought more goodies, but this this its all for me!!!
smiggle fluoro pink rubber $1.95 and smiggle glitter pen set $9.95 - all of this stuff smellsss sooooo good... i love smggle...

this is my long cream cardigan from valley girl harbour town $14.95
bargain!

this is the most expensive thing i have bought these school holidays, its a men la coste (crocodile) polo from DJ's - i have been looking for this for agess... its a very nice yummy lilac colour and i get to wear on sports days to school. $69.95 from $110 (i'm sooo not paying full price!)

last but not least - is my black shirt dress from witchery $99.95
i bought this earlier in the year and i must admit i do use it a lot
i am totally loving dresses at the moment only because its a no brain way of dressing.

My new accessory purchase!!

hello people!!
come and see my new handbag reveal...
i know its a different type of handbag to the usual designer stuff i get but i found this bag very handy....
any guesses anyone?
shall we continue?

TADAAA!!! unbelievably i went to the hardware store and bought myself a drill/screwdriver set.
What the hell for you say?
Is Miss Clio going to do some DIY around the house?
Well yes and no...
I bought this because a few days earlier i went to Ikea and bought this (look below)
There was no way i was going to put this together by hand (last time i did this i came out with blisters galore) - so i did the practical thing and bought myself a lil tool kit.
Its brilliant - i absolutely love it- cant wait to do some more very little projects around the house. hehehe...

the malm chest of drawers with 6 drawers. $239 Ikea
I can fit in sooo much stuff in here its awesome!!

my favourite drawer :o) its got all the goodies...

little miss home improvement... and yes i am hanging out in my leavers top...

Bella's Pregnant

my little baby girl Bella is PREGNANT!!!

we went to the vets today for an ultrasound just to make sure she had some buns in the oven and not just fat. She's about 31days into a 63 day pregnant period - so we will be expecting four legged bundles of joy later in the month. She has swollen nipples, bulging boobies and a big appetite. We saw only 2 bubs in the ultrasound, but we were told to expect more as bassets tend to have large litters (about 6 - 12). This pregnancy was planned, unlike our little accident last year.

Above is a picture of Bella in the bath tub earlier today, she likes warm bubble baths :o)

For the oyster lovers!!

I'm not really into oysters au naturale....
i like them steamed with black bean & chilli or kilpatrick

but there is this amazing seafood shop just across the road (leach highway) from our house. every weekend they have someone freshly shucking oysters and giving away 1 free oyster per person.

Free sample? I'm there baby!
And now I'm hooked, they also have these amazing yummy oyster sauces, pour some on top of your raw oyster and down the chute it goes.

The oysters are super duper fresh and the sauces are delicious - they have me and simon hooked big time. we have to have our oyster fix every weekend now.

1/2 dozen is $7.50 or 1 dozen is $15.00, oyster sauce bottles $7.50
