croissant craving

A couple of weeks ago, during a long weekend, i had an incredible croissant craving that would not go away unless i had an almond croissant from gallete de france from station street markets subiaco. [sorry for any spelling mistakes!]

this was only the second time i have had this delicious pastry and it is YUMMY! hubby and i will fight tooth and nail to finish the last piece. i can't believe i use to work in subiaco only minutes from this pastry place and never bought anything!! ARGHHH how foolish i was!! now i work 45 minutes away and dream of crispy hot croissants.

Croissants are made fresh everyday and i think they bake a fresh batch every few hours so you know they're always warm and perfectly crispy. there is a smooth and creamy filling of custard inside, slivers of almond sprinkled on top with a dusting of icing sugar. in each mouthful you get the crispy crunchy buttery hit of the warm croissant and the soft sweet gooeyness of the custard. to bet eaten slowly and every moment cherished... a bit pricey at $3.90 each but definitely worth the treat!
