S and I quickly replied "Hawker Food!!" or basically anything in an old style family type food court. Ming said it could get a bit messy or dirty there since theres a wet night market near the food court, our reply..EVEN BETTER!!
as a tourist staying in the city, you wont really get the chance to hang out in local food courts with a nearby wet night market. so we were very eager to see what the markets had to offer.
the eggs were nice and fuffy, just the right amount of grease and the chilli had a nice sour tang to it... damn... it all went down soooo easy.
next... ming's cousin vincent bought a bundle of these.. malaysian otak otak.
i've had otak otak before, but indonesian style. these were the same but different at the same time. malaysian otak has spices and bumbu incorporated into the fish paste, indonesian otak otak is plain ... we add a peanut chilli sauce that adds the flavour in the end.

ming's fried udon noodle. (that's what they looked like)
and my laksa... it was not easy eating this in 30 degree humid weather. but i had to have laksa while i was in malaysia. i washed it down with a sugar cane drink as seen in the back ground.
i cant believe they sell this stuff every where...
i've only ever seen chi cheong fun at dim sum... but hey.. im not complaining.
I love all this hawker food stuff,
the flavours are good and the prices are friendly!
really cant wait to go back to KL
luv.clio
