ZUMBA!!

i have been doing zumba for a couple of months now and im really enjoying it. i feel like my ass gets a serious workout whenever i go but i have fun at the same time. my zumba partner [cousin] has left me [ she went to canada] so i go to the lessons by myself now.

BUT!! i have been checking out zumba routines on youtube and its brilliant!! i'm finding routines my instructer doesn't use and im more then happy to try them at home. I might even try some of the routines on the kids at school... hehehe... very scary!! But i have noticed this bunch of kids really like to dance, and dont seem to have any inhibitions - quite a shameless bunch.

When i have learnt the routines - i'm going to give them a go... hehehe

the routine i want to try ... bad romance - lady gaga

wanna join me?

currently obsessed with....

false eyelashes... been reading/looking at my latest japanese fashion mag, and i cant get enough of them. Asians in general have shitty, crappy non existant eye lashes. My eye lashes are short stumpy and need serious help... so i use falsies to give them a bit of a boost.

in the last 2 weeks i have watched 20 youtube video clips on how to put them on.. and now i can... now im just going stupid on ebay buying the cutest false eye lashes i can get my paws on. they are cheaper then priceline too...

Nikko Hotel Bali

We stayed in Nikko Hotel Nusa Dua at the end of our Bali trip. 2 nights in the biggest most expansive hotel i have ever stayed in. The facilities here are amazing, heaps of lagoon pools at different depths, spas and jacuzzis peppered around the manicured grounds, the hotel's own private beach. It was amazing. I have never stayed in a hotel like this. This is definitely one of those hotels where you check in and have no need to go out until you check out. A great hotel i would recommend to anyone... i also love their toiletries.. they smell like jasmine with green tea.. lush!!! i definitely stole toiletries to take home... heheh.... [something i normally dont do unless i really really like the stuff]

We had a buffet breakfast every morning, great selection of western and asian foods. This was my fruit platter - loved the rambutan and snake fruit. Asian fruits are so exotic and different.

My indonesian soto mie - was ok, hawker stuff in jakarta is better. Cant expect much from a hotel.

my chinese rice porridge, i like to eat this if it's available, there's something moorish about it.
plain rice gruel, with a yummy range of condiments, normally coriander, fried dough, sesame oil, chicken, soy sauce, spring onions.

was absolutely full after breakfast... oh to eat like this everyday for breakfast.

Grilled seafood Jimbaran beach

The best place to eat seafood in Bali has to be Jimbaran. Along Jimbaram beach, there's a long row of barbeque seafood restaurants, that are pretty much identical in menu and price. The special for this area is the fresh grilled seafood, everything is seasoned and marinated the same way. So it really doesn't matter which restaurant you end up in, it's all going to taste the same.

The bali/jimabaran seasoning is combination of chilli, tomatos, onions, garlic and other herbs, they grind it up into a paste and spread it generously all over the seafood before it's grilled over a coal fire.

It is absolutely delicious and not that spicey at all.. but you definitely have to use your hands!

Above is our extra side order of yabbies in jimbaran sauce... very yummy, but yabbies dont have a lot of meat. booo...

Above is our seafood platter with pipis, fish, squid, prawns, tuna, scallops with a side of chips and sambal kang kong. As yummy as it was, this meal did not come cheap... it ended up being about aud $80-$100.

ps: sorry for the confusing fonts... i could not change the first font... still haven't got used to blogger yet.. hehehe...

corn by the beach

Last month we went to Bali for 7 days and 6 nights, it was an amazing holiday spent eating and lazing about. I had a few grumbles - but i have bitched enough about it, and i'd rather talk about the amazing stuff we ate.

This trolley cart was serving up freshly steamed corn on the cob or peanuts, or if you prefer, you can also get your corn grilled. The smells wafting from this cart was amazing, but sadly we had to pass it up. After eating a huge grilled seafood platter a la Jimbaran style, there was no way we could eat anything else. Such a shame... as my hubby knows... i'm a sucker for corn in any way... espercially when it's slathered with butter and salt... maybe next time... ?
