margaret river chocolate factory

for our 2nd yr anniversary/valentines day celebrations, me and mr s decided to make a little trip down south. since mr s has never been anywhere outside of Perth (besides kalgoorlie for a weekend work stint) - we thought it would be nice to do a weekend getaway....when you go down south, you have to go to margaret river chocolate factory....yum......... we had the hot chocolate which was very indulgent but VERY GOOD.....you can see the chocolate bits at the bottom of the glass...

this is the choclate and hot milk all mixed up....yum....."DROOLSSS"....ooo and the chocolate at the bottom? thats a macadamia cluster......DOUBLE YUM.......hrmm... i got chocolate cravings now

i got this little button from the rubi house, it was so cute i could not resist.

my old ballet flats are about to die and so i got "replacement" ballet flats, bargain at $10 from harbour town (I LOVE BARGAINS!!)

mac 'n' cheese

i had cravings for macaroni and cheese ...and i didnt want to buy any of that "kraft" pre packaged crap..so i decided to make my own from scratch. cant be too hard right??? ...no... it wasnt too hard actually, just google the recipe and bobs your uncle. so i got this semi authentic recipe (southern comfort foods) ...which sounded dead easy and pretty yummy. unfortunately my mac 'n' cheese looks much better then it tastes. coz from memory or imagination, i always thought mac n cheese to be really cheesy and yummy and creamy, well it was cheesy and creamy, but it lacked something, i dunno, maybe it was salt? anyways im not going to make this one again for a very very long time....only coz mr s wont eat much of it (neither did i!!) and the only people who enjoyed it was the dogs...lucky lil buggers...

we got a plant for xmas, and lo and behold... its nearly dead 4-5 weeks later. i dont know wot i did wrong, i watered the stupid thing, and gave it sunshine etc etc, stupid thing just DIED!!! please dont give me plants, coz i will just kill it. hehe take a look at my garden its nearly dead - and thats a whole backyard full! if u do want to give me plants - pls give me edible herbs that way i will prolly eat it b4 it has a chance to die.

jakarta under water

as most of you may or may not have heard, jakarta is under water again. this time its much worse then the flood of '02 - '04 ??? pls dont quote me on it - honestly i dont know :o).

my mother in law calls every2-3 days keeping us up to date with the latest details and happenings of the flood. according to her its pretty bad, one of the major shopping centres near her house has been flooded bad (water levels around your knees - its like garden city being flooded- something impossible for me to imagine). this didnt happen in the other flood, so shes pretty much stranded at home. luckily her house is in a good location, and its not flooded, but everywhere else near her house is.

the news said that 3/4 jakarta city is under water, with many peoples homes, businesses and belongings desroyed and damaged by the floods. what angers a lot of the people (rich and poor) is that the government does so little to help their own people. How come the government didnt do anything to rectify the problem from the last floods? have they not learned their lesson? unfortunatly in indonesia like many other 3rd world countries, there are too many greedy people who are too busy exploiting the countries resources and pocketing all the money for their own personal benefit. no one gives a shit about the environment or the future of the country/people. its really sad....things need to change ....

this picture was taken at Hillary's, just north of perth.... on the left hand side you had the man made fireworks..... in the middle you had a comet (you can just barely see it) ........and on the right was a stunning show of lightning by mother nature

i wasnt there myself, but a work colleague was there and he said what you see above is exactly what had happened. The sky was an amazing display of light and dark.

Sorry for radio silence. Let's recap:

Wisdom tooth out. Thinking that it needed to be done, and that I shouldn't be counting on dental plans anytime soon in SF, I went in for this week before last. It was a shocker! My dentist kept saying, that's a BIG tooth! After much sawing and hacking and bits of my tooth sprayed on my face, it was out. I definitely underestimated the pain and discomfort, but at least I didn't swell up too bad. I was eating normally a week after. I don't want to see chok for a very very very long time!

Apart from that I've been slowly moving through the packing. Or throwing out rather. Where did I get this much crap from?! Even when I knew Singapore wasn't really a permanent thing, I still managed this much stuff. I travel, so technically I have less money for things, but then I shop when I travel (can't help it) so I still end up with things!

Speaking of which, India proved to be very irresistible on the 'things' front. Was left to my own devices one day...ONE day..and I ended up raiding a cashmere shop. *sigh* my credit card has gone home sick now. Oh well, it was fun! And they're all completely gorgeous. teehee.

They'll go next to my silk lamps from Beijing which I am insisting on bringing to SF with me :)
